Piper Gleason is your average teenage detective. Her father runs the town newspaper the Riverview Gazette, and is also a publisher of mystery novels.

When she is out late one evening and hears a scream from an old abandoned monastery, her sleuthing instincts take over, and she soon discovers that the broken down monastery is now a teeming hub for a cult that lures in rich women with the intent to rob them.

Now Piper must uncover the cult, save a missing girl, and find the million dollar missing Sapphire Star and all by the time for the late edition.
